Jockeys Ridge State Park near Nags Head on the Outer Banks of NC. The tallest natural sand dune system in the eastern US, Jockeys Ridge State Park in Nags Head NC is a landmark along the Outer Banks.
On the day I shot this landscape, there waqs a storm blowing through producing 60mph winds resulting in quite a sand storm at Jockeys Ridge. The wind swept across the sand dunes removing what is normally a thick layer of soft sand, revealing these amazing patterns in the deeper layers of sand that are not normally visible.
